The Sectorial Project Pet Brasil is the result of a partnership between Instituto Pet Brasil and Apex-Brasil – the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, an agency linked to the federal government. The project helps and guides companies that wish to export their products, whether they are beginners, already exporting or internationalized.

The Project also seeks to promote the potential of the Brazilian industry (which is increasingly aligned with the demands of the main markets around the world) to the international market.

Instituto Pet Brasil

Created in 2013, Instituto Pet Brasil brings together the entire sector dedicated to pets: from the specialized segment (pet shops), to service providers, as well as breeding kennels and veterinary clinics, in addition to companies that develop and sell accessories, medication, hygiene and grooming products for our best friends.

Instituto Pet Brasil promotes and strengthens the relationship between humans and their pets, considering this interaction to be beneficial for society as a whole.

Through projects that foster knowledge, entrepreneurship, sustainability and innovation, Instituto Pet Brasil encourages a harmonious and sustainable coexistence among the main players of the pet sector (be it production chain, government, academia and third sector entities), all in order to make Brazil a reference in management, innovative public policies and export of products and services for pets. Apex-Brasil

The Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) promotes the exports of Brazilian products and services. Apex-Brasil contributes to the internationalization of Brazilian companies and to attract foreign investments to Brazil.

From 2014 to 2018, Apex assisted approximately thirty thousand companies of all sizes, especially small and medium-sized. During the period, exports by these companies totaled around US$ 280 billion, accounting for approximately 25% of the total exported by Brazil annually.

Through initiatives carried out in partnership with entities of the sector, Apex-Brasil organizes trade promotion activities, such as prospective trade missions, business roundtables, support to Brazilian companies that participate in major international fairs as well as to foreign buyers and opinion makers that visit to discover the Brazilian productive structure. Apex-Brasil also compiles studies on trade and competitive intelligence, aiming to guide the decisions of Brazilian companies when entering international markets.

The time is now!

Globally, the sector moves US$ 139.2 billion, and you can be part of this market. At the same time that new products are created to win over foreign buyers, meeting requirements and quality standards, the launches heat the national industry.

Other companies also start to seek innovation to develop more innovative solutions for their customers. An optimistic picture that encourages more and more companies to seek markets outside the country.

We have the scale and quality to grow much more.

Brazil is the sixth largest pet market in the world in terms of revenue, with the third largest total pet population on the planet. In addition, it is the second largest pet food producer and the country with the highest growth in this area in the world.

The outstanding highlight of the sector is still the United States, the largest pet market in the world, with a 44.8% share of retail sales in the sector. It is followed by China, Germany, the UK, and Japan.
